The Department of Physics was established in the year 2019 as B.Sc. Physics affiliated to University of Madras. The objective Physics being an integral part of every scientific innovation, teaching the principles of Physics to students is to lay a strong foundation to future technology. The syllabus & examination is based on CBCS system.
To thrive for the truth of nature in terms of agreements of theory with practice and stand firm even if ideas fail till new notions are formed. Physics portraits the landscape of life and this department look forward to explore the physics lying beneath our observations.
The mission of this department is to teach and learn physics in a collaborative, performance – based pathway; we look to encourage the students towards observation and analysis of the natural world and to provide the tools and skills to the students to be torch bearers of physics by contributing effectively to the existing laws of nature.

- Physics Laboratory is well-furnished with adequate equipment. This spacious laboratory can accommodate 60 students at a time and covers 12 experiments related to Optics, Magnetism and Semiconductors etc., Each experiment has three to six sets of equipments. For conducting Optics experiments a separate dark room is also available with necessary experimental set-up.
- The Purpose of the Laboratory. Physicsis an experimental science. The theoretical concepts and relationships introduced in the lecture part of the course describe the general nature and behavior of real phenomena.
